Cori is positioned on a hill. Behind him there are the Lepini Mountains and the Alban  Hills, in front of the Pontina Plain, which can be admired in full to the Tyrrhenian Sea: on clear days you can see the Circeo Promontory and even the Ponziane Islands. In the commune territory, on the border with Segni and Montelanico, stands Mount Lupone, belonging to the mountainous group of the Monti Lepini. Historically, Cori have always been divided into two (even after the emergence of the new districts outside the historic center): the part of the village at the summit of the hill is called Cori Monte (or Cori Alto), while the part located at The end of the hill is called Cori Valle (or Cori Basso). The inhabitants above and below are called Mountains and Vallarani. The three ancient wards were named after the three gateways to the village: Porta Signina (Cori Monte), Ward of Porta Romana and Porta di Ninfina (Cori Valle). Their names originated from the places where they led, respectively: Segni, Rome and Ninfa.
